Important airsoft terms
- *AEG-Airsoft Electric Gun
*Hop-Up-internal component which imparts a backspin on a BB
*High-Cap-a mag which generally holds more than 500 BBs
*Mid-Cap-a mag which holds 90-120 BBs
*Low-Cap-a mag which holds less than a mid-cap
*FPS-Feet Per Second; used to measure the velocity of a BB
*Milsim-a "Military Simulation" event type; usually strictor rules
*RIS-Rail Integrated System; a component which allows for external attatchments on a gun
*Blow-Back-a realistic add-on which simulates the recoil of a gun
*ROF-Rate of Fire; the amount of projectiles fired by a gun in an amount of time
*Semi Auto-a fire control setting in which only one projectile is fired with each pull of the trigger
*Full Auto-a fire control setting in which holding the trigger down results in a continuous burst of projectiles
*DMR-Designated Marksmen Rifle; a gun which can take longer shots than a normal assault rifle
*SAW-Squad Assault Weapon; a weapon designed to lay down sustained suppresive fire on the enemy; usually in the form of a light machine gun
